Up for sale an interesting piece of Chinese cultural history - a custom made Shard box.  During the Chinese cultural revolution keeping antique porcelain at home was deemed illegal and most private porcelain pieces were broken and discarded.  Some who wanted to keep the history alive salvaged shards and created unique small containers out of hammered silver.
This one measures 3.5" x 3" and approximately 1 1/2" high.   Minor wear from age and use.  The silver is a little tarnished as well.   A small piece of paper inside gives a little history too and indicates the porcelain dates back to the 1800's but I can't verify that.  It certainly is a unique piece of history you can hold in your hands!
Running this as an auction AND don't forget to check out my other auctions - I'm slowly selling off some very unique "stuff" I've been collecting for decades - you never know what you'll find!
