Instruments covered include: compasses, rulers, slide rules, pens, pencils, curves, paper, planimeters, pantographs, cased sets of drawing instruments, drawing tables, office furniture, etc.
The book comes with two supplementary A. West brochures, the A. West Ltd price list for March 1958, and some original letters relating to equipment to be supplied.

A. West & Partners: specialised in drawing instruments and materials and were established in business in 1888. By 1914 they were trading at 91 to 98 York Street, Westminster, London, as 'Drawing office stationers and manufacturers of mathematical and surveying instruments, engineers' photo papers etc. Specialities: photo papers for export, specially prepared sensitized papers and cloth for engineers, machine-mounted drawing papers’. In 1920 the partners were C. Hanrott, H. C. Hanrott and A. A. Lovegrove, and by 1927 they were trading at 36 Broadway, Westminster, London. In March 1940 the business was registered as a private company - A. West & Partners Limited - 'To carry on the business of manufacturers and preparers of paper for photographic printing, manufacturers of and dealers in drawing office materials, photographic, electrical, surveying and aeronautical apparatus, etc'.
Condition:
In very good condition. The card cover is in good condition, with some minor wea and a few marks. The binding and hinges are good and secure. The text and illustrations are in very good condition. The supplements, price list and letters are in very good condition.
