Black Bassalt Teapot Circa 1800’s With Provenance, Battle Of Waterloo. No makers marks, or dates.

The real value in this item , is in the romance of the provenance… which cannot be replaced, true dedication to a husband in service…

Circa 19th century teapot, in damaged, antique condition.. donated to us with note of provenance from previous owners family, dated 1891.

“This being the anniversary of the battle of Waterloo, I hereby certify that this tea pot was carried by my grand fathers wife, who followed her husband (John Causton) through the peninsular campaign, ending with the battle of Waterloo, June 15th, 1815.

Signed James Causton”.

The note is dated 15th June 1891, and is included in the sale.

The tea pot itself has damage to the lid, tip, and rim, and has cracks underneath, that do not appear to go through.. there are significant signs of use inside. It has been left in it’s original condition to preserve its history, but looks like it would clean up nicely.

All proceeds from the sale will benefit Rowcroft Hospice, and serve patients in our local community.

Postage by courier. Will be well wrapped in bubble wrap…
