One of three cards in the Cannon Collection from the uncommon series of three recorded c.3" x 4.5" Pinafore Silhouette stock trade cards known as series "B". (Note that the water above the ship's rail is shaded and there are patches of white in the sky, which distinguishes this set from series "A".) The card is captioned "This Very Night" and has an overprinted advert in the box for Nelse Horton, an advertising agent of Salem, Mass. The face is mostly bright but there are a few light marks and an indication on the reverse that it was once pasted into an album.

item was formerly in the collection of John Cannon, the respected G&S
collector and researcher who died in 2021. He left instructions that all
collectors should have a chance to acquire the treasures in his collection,
which will therefore be auctioned here over the next year or so by
StageMemories and PaperJoys. Please let us know if you would like to be added

collection.

be able to reduce the shipping cost. Equally, if an item sells for

insurance or the depth of packaging, which will increase the shipping cost.

to reduce the shipping costs for you, but please note that when multiple
items reach a high total value I may ask you to insure the package. If you want
a service not stated, such as first class or surface mail, please ask for a
quote. In
all cases please discuss with me before making your payment. The maximum
possible level of insurance on items sent overseas with Royal Mail is £250.
If the total value of contents exceeds this figure then you will have to
accept the risk of sending the item(s), or choose an alternative courier.
