Tallyho! This is a beautiful, large, high-relief, “Prize Medal” from Scotland. It was won by “George Russell” at the 1913 Horse Show in Fife for “Best Animal in the Hunter Class”.
To win "Best Animal in the Hunter Class" horses are judged on their manners, performance, way of going, and soundness. The horse’s ability to move smoothly and effortlessly over fences is often a key factor. Additionally, the horse’s conformation (physical appearance and structure), temperament, and suitability for the rider may also be considered.
“Tallyho!” was the loud cry of a hunter when he sighted the fox. It alerted the other hunters to congregate on the location of the yeller.
Weight: 40.75 Grams, 48 Millimeters, Probably Silver. (Hallmarks).

The Medal: A pretty piece, it has toned some since 1913. Looking at the edge, it may be two silver medals bonded to a copper core. An unusual medal with a nice depiction of a mounted knight. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
