Up for bid is a great example of a cephalon of the Ordovician pterygometopid trilobite Calyptaulax callicephalus. This trilobite has beautiful large schizochroal eyes with the eye lenses exquisitely preserved. It is from the Verulam Formation, Trenton Group, Upper Ordovician of Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. The cephalon is 1.5 cm wide on a small piece of matrix of 3.5 x 2 cm. Also associated on the piece are some branching bryooans.
