There are many potential uses for these cups; here are a few I know about. It could be used to place frit, glass powder or Thomson enamels in a prearranged pattern that you want picked up into the end of the glass on your pipe. You could add a 3D affect into the bottom of the cup for a detailed pick up. I had the opportunity of witnessing this being performed and thanks to a wonderful friend; we came up with this design using graphite.

The outside of the cup measures 2-1/2" Dia. x 2" Long (with the base).
The inside of the tube measures 1-3/4" at the bottom surface and tapers out to 1-1/16" Dia. at the top to prevent your glass from hanging up.
The base has a step that the tube securely fits over to hold your design together as you pick it up.

I am allowing each machinist to take the liberty of engraving their initials, signature or symbols on the side (non-functional part of the mold). Our people take great pride in their work and our normal machining jobs don't allow that to take place. But they are true crafts people at what they do and when you see the quality of their work I'm sure you will agree.
