and Hampton Roads, printed more than 149 years ago. ![]() ![]() ![]() Among the specific named places and features are the Norfolk & Petersburg Railroad, Yorktown, Bacon Castle, Camp Holly, Chickahominy River, the Richmond & York Railroad, Smithfield Court House, Disputanta, West Point, Gloucester, Fish Hall, Zuni, and many more. The image area measures 34.8 x 17.8 cm [13-3/4" x 7"], and the map was published in the July 19, 1862, issue of Harper's Weekly. This listing includes not only the map but also the full page on which it was printed: ![]() The attached page is also included, and the reverse sides open up to a dramatic double-page battle engraving of an original drawing: The Army of the Potomac — Griffin's and Martin's Batteries Pouring Canister into the Rebel Ranks at Gaines's Mills. (It is not signed but is attributed to Winslow Homer.) This engraving measures a generous 14" x 21" and is shown below. ![]() Condition: There are a couple of small rust-colored spots, the most noticeable one on the map is just south of Mechanicsville. There are no rips or tears, and the map and engraving are in very good condition. The center fold has been reinforced with archival tape.
