For use with an open fire reduces the Height of the opening.
Helps to increase the draw and eliminate smoke coming into the room.
It fits in between the trim and is held in place with a rod with butterfly nut and nut on each end to tension it.

Note.
16" inch canopy measures 16 1/4 inch please check your measurements. This should still fit into a 16 inch opening but will not fit all.
