Description
Bond-It Flashing Tape Flashband - Roof Repair Kit Roll and Primer (3m)
Includes a tin of primer!
High quality BITU-BOND Peel & Seal self adhesive Flashing tape and a tin of primer.
This easy to use, tough but flexible tape is suitable for general repairs and sealing use. It is weather proof and provides long lasting protection. Keep the water out!
Why buy BITU-BOND Flashing tape?
The kit contains a 3 metre roll of tape (choice of widths above) and a pot of primer. The primer is necessary on rough or uneven surfaces like wood, cement boards, course brick, breezeblock etc... or to really ensure that good adhesion is made.
Designed for use as flashing on flat and pitched roofs, roof valleys, parapets and chimney stacks. Also ideal for sealing around RSJ's, flues, concrete columns, roof-lights, guttering and extractor vents. The strength of the facing gives resistance to puncturing and the bitumen gives flexibility and adhesion but without the problems of slump.

Fitting and Usage
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and dust-free. Remove any loose particles and any rust with a wire brush & soft broom. If adding to existing flashing wire wool the flashing to reveal a clean surface.
The use of gloves is recommended.
Rough, porous or friable surfaces (such as wood, cement boards, course brickwork, breeze blocks etc..) should be primed with the included bituminous primer and allowed to dry first (drying time is dependent on ambient temperature) in order to improve bonding strength. After the primer has dried
- Roll out the flashing strip then cut to the required measured length
- Remove the backing paper (peel back 150mm) and place the adhesive side to the previously prepared surface
- To ensure a tight contact - smooth the tape down with a dry cloth, removing all the air bubbles
- Press the tape to the surface firmly once in position
- Repeat the steps 2-4 in 300mm to 600mm sections until the area is covered
- If the tape is joined ensure all overlaps are greater than 25mm
- Smooth flat all edges with a wallpaper roller or trowel
- After use reseal pack and store upright in cool, dry conditions
Note: In cold temperatures the tape will be harder to work with and not appear to stick as well as when warm or warmed.
