“In her works she employs the technique of collage and her images, identifiable or not, and always fragmentary, aim for the symbolic extension of the visual space. She is inspired by often uses elements of different cultures, while a key element of the works is the human form, echoed unchanged with the use of photography or presented through an allusive abstract writing.”

Medium: Top part is lithography painted over with black, pink, gold and green colors. Lower half is a hand painted paper collage of a zebra motif.

Signed: signed at bottom right “R. Kapeliari ‘89”. Titled at middle center, both in French and in Greek "E/A Βασίλισσα της Αφρικής. Reine d'Afrique”. Also inscribed at top left side: "Chaque mit me j'offre".

RANIA KAPELARI SHORT BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Rania Kapeliari was born in Athens in 1960. She studied painting and mosaics in the School of Fine Arts in Paris, studied monumental art of the Mediterranean in the Archeological School in Cairo with an Egyptian government scholarship and printmaking techniques at the School of Fine Arts in Paris with a scholarship of IKY. She attended the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris. Her works can be found in the National Gallery in Athens, Alpha Bank collection, etc.
