The AMERICAN REVIEW of History And Politics and General Repository of Literature and State Papers  was published July 1812 in Philadelphia for Farrand & Nicholas measuring 9 1/4" x 6" with printed paper cover, 236 pages and content including a review of address of members of the House of Representatives, Napoleon, argument on the right of the constituent to instruct his representative in Congress, message of the President of the United States to both Houses communicating copies and extracts from the correspondence of the Secretary of State and the Minister Plenipotentiary of the Unites States at Paris, correspondence between Mr Foster and Mr Monroe etc.

Inked at top of the front cover is "Rich'd Varick Esq." Richard Varick (1753-1831) was a founding father, attorney, banker, political leader and officer of the Continental Army where he served as George Washington's secretary during the American Revolution, mayor of New York City etc.

 Light extremity wear; front cover separating from spine at bottom half; light foxing; otherwise solid and clean.
