Each image has been restored and hand tinted (colored) to give the viewer the opportunity to see the images as if they were there.
The richness and detail of each image can be explored further. Additional close-up views of each image reveal small details, allowing the viewer to see much more than can be seen in the original picture. Now you can view individual soldiers in the scene, inspect the fine detail of the items in their hands, the horses, artillery or other aspects that you may have missed.
