Keelers date to the mid-1800s and are a very rare form for yellow ware.  They are generally thought to have been used to cool milk in spring houses.  Keelers were made in a variety of sizes and decorations.   The side of the keeler is sloped with large rounded handles.  The side has molded bands and “slats” to make this look like the side of a barrel.  This is a larger size measuring 7 ¼” in width by 4 ¼” to the top of the handles.   This is in near mint condition with only a short line in the bottom of the keeler.
