Up for sale is a ice Prentiss Taylor ink-wash (sumi) probably of Cliff Palace, Colorado   Title is not, to me legible, but this is similar to several other pieces of Cliff Palace we have acquired.  The ink wash (sumi) provides nice detail and is a attractive looking piece.  It is not framed and measures approximately 16 x 12 inches.  It has been matted (probably in the late 1960's or early 70's.   Painting is signed and titled on bottom.  Title (different ones) are given on both sides. It is dated 1963.

Painting is in generally nice condition. Some light wear and aging but in general is in nice condition. Matting has aging to it.

Prentiss Taylor (1907-1991) is a well known and listed artist.  He often collaborated with Langston Hughes and was part of the Harlem Renaissance.  He has won numerous awards and his work hangs in museums and private collections around the world. He was also influential in his use of art as part of psychotherapy.

We recently acquired numerous pieces by Taylor from the estate of his long time partner.  This, and the other pieces we are offering, came directly from the estate.  Purchaser will be provided copies of letters documenting these purchases.  Provenance on them is impeccable.
