We have been in the movie film transfer business for over 35 years and during that time have been extremely committed to our film transfer work always striving for THE BEST. We use the very latest in professional true film scanning equipment in order to preserve every single frame of your priceless movie film. It captures and preserves image detail and color like none other. We have transferred movie film for many of our local Kansas City TV stations as well as personally for many of our local TV anchors and their families. We have done movie film transfer work for customers from Kansas City to Australia.   You can also find some of our film transfer work in the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.  You can go to my business Facebook page at Gibbons Video Productions and view some of my movie film transfer examples. I am offering a special deal on my business Facebook page. If you click on 'LIKE' on my business Facebook page at Gibbons Video Productions and decide you do NOT want the QuickTime files on a hard drive/flash drive you will receive an additional FREE DVD or FREE DVD SET depending on how many DVD's are in your current movie film transfer order.  Ebay will not let us use our business website for this ebay listing. I will need about 1-2 weeks to do your film transfer. I always keep a Master copy of your movie film transfer DVD's on file. Return shipping charges for your movie film and DVD's are always FREE within the US.  If you are located outside the U.S. you will be responsible for your return shipping charges.  Thank you.

We always do frame by frame scanning and will never do a direct transfer method.  We use a specially optimized 1:1 macro scan lens that transfers the film image directly to the camera sensor, with no field lens, projection lens, camera lens, screen or mirror in the way to spoil the quality, as found in old style film chain optics. There is nothing else such as a camera shutter in the optical path to introduce flicker, instead using precision timed digital shuttering.  We use the same frame by frame transfer method that is used in movie film transfer studios in California.  When the movie studios film on 16mm, 35mm and/or 70mm these prints must be transferred to digital files for DVD and Blu ray distribution. They all use the frame by frame scanning method because of the high quality results and also because it is has been the proven industry standard for many years.  There are so many film transfer processes to choose from and many movie transfer companies.  Just take a look at our feedback and you be the judge.  We have worked with many professional film and video editors over the years that prefer our quality level.  We love to have customers come by our studio when they are in the Kansas City area to observe our process.  Some of the other 'movie film transfer' companies tend to discourage this with their potential customers. We are proud to show our customers how we do it and how this whole thing works.  After being in the film/video production business for over 35 years we have a lot to be proud of.
We also offer movie film transfer services to other video production companies in the United States and around the world.  If you own a video production company and you are needing film transfer services please get in touch with us.

*********SPECIAL NOTE: PLEASE CONTACT ME THRU EBAY IF YOUR FILM FOOTAGE COUNT IS DIFFERENT FROM THIS AUCTION. I WILL GIVE YOU A PACKAGE PRICE BASED ON YOUR FILM FOOTAGE COUNT OR REEL SIZES AND OF COURSE RETURN SHIPPING IS ALWAYS FREE.

HOME MOVIE FILM DETERIORATION--------VINEGAR EFFECT

What do we mean by the "Vinegar Effect" or what we normally call the "Vinegar Syndrome"?

All cellulose motion picture film deteriorates even when stored in a clean, dry and cool place over time. While this can take years to deteriorate it would be prudent to regularly inspect your movie film.  Regular 8mm, Super 8 and 16mm film are made from tri acetate cellulose and over time the chemical compound can react and cause the start of decomposition which in it's early stages starts giving off a typical "Vinegar Smell", hence the name "Vinegar Syndrome".  The appropriately named vinegar effect is characterized by the strong odor given off by the film. The strength of the smell is not an accurate way to determine the overall condition of the deteriorating films.  Do not be too discouraged if your 8mm, super 8 or 16mm smells of vinegar as the smell could be in the early stages of your film breaking down but can still be transferred without any problems.  I highly recommend to get your movie films transferred as soon as possible.  I've seen some film come thru our studio where the film has curled or warped so badly that it was almost impossible to work with for the transfer.  Obviously, this film was in it's latter stage of deterioration.  We eventually do get them transferred but it is always very time consuming and very costly for the customer.  GET YOUR MOVIE FILMS TRANSFERRED NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.
Your family history and nostalgic memories are at risk of being lost forever due to film deterioration and NOW is the time to take positive action to hand down your family trust and knowledge in a medium that will last for a very very long time in a DVD, Blu Ray or Digital file (QuickTime) format for safe archival storage.
