Use SCENIC ACCENTS GLUE to attach the figures with instant placement - no holding required.  It allows for repositioning of figures and doesn't leave any puddles or residue. 

You may also want to consider using GENTLE GRIPS which has protective tips, curved ends for positive grip, and are extra long to reach difficult places.
