CIRCA 1910'S RARE ROCOCO GORHAM SILVER HANDLED COVERED TUREEN BOWL -our FineThings4sale -our FineThings4sale is about 9 nches WIDE this has a beautiful applied/chased Rococo pattern on it.   This great handled serving bowl goes out to you polished and will only need to be post shipment cleaned/polished.  Highest quality old silverplate item, not able to find now, it is super heavy (thick edge with really great chasing work), this is the PERFECT wedding family gift or plan now for your own set of holiday parties! 

This covered sering dish / tureen perfect for serving hot foods --- it all is served in elegance when presented from this large tureen bowl.  Also great as a decorative accessory or bowl for fruits without the lid as well -- look at the fine details.  My family used this only for special events and it shows the most minimal use, no under metal bleeding, dings or nasty scratches.  Expect typical surface use evidence, sits right.  This was a well-cared for item most rarely used.

Never engraved or monogramed.  NICE!  And REALLY BIG --- This classic style pot will work with just about any silver flatware / china / glassware pattern - from colonial Gorham Fairfax, to fancier Cinderella, King Albert, classic Etruscan, simple Dolly Madison, grand Francis I, English Gadroon to Old Master --- all and more can be paired with this classic vintage Gallery Tray.  Collector's item, yet eminently appropriate for contemporary use.

My grandparents collected quality Sheffield items. They were serious about entertaining in a way I am not.  My family invested in quality items for gracious living.

CONDITION:  VERY FINE overall with almost none of the typical use marks etc.  Review the posted pictures.  Super nice considering suspected age!

Review picture(s) for condition etc.  Not new, but Used Good Estate Condition with expected use on treasured old items.  Some hand washing/polishing needed!  Vintage heirloom quality, these were used for 30+ years for entertaining, as the items were acquired post World War II.  This is an outstanding, truly versatile, group/set of good weight/heft, elegant pattern.  Bid based on info above, but know these were from a very good collection of very fine household goods that were well taken care of.

 

Expect general marks, spots, scratches, wear and patina commensurate with age and use of treasured serverware/flatware used for special meals/holidays.  All this has been stored away in the box for many years and a simple cleaning/polishing will make it look even more elegant on your table.  Most or all hosts would feel quite comfortable using this when entertaining the most special guests in your home.

5.     Shipping will be Priority Mail by United States Postal Service, insurance required for items over $40. We will ship within one week of the finish of the sale.

7.     If the item is damaged during shipping, the buyer must contact the shipper to resolve this matter. Seller will provide any necessary paperwork to help buyer with his/her claim.  We pack carefully and this has never been an issue.
