North America, black walnut hulls have been highly regarded

walnut trees had become popular in Rome after making its way there
from the Middle East . He also described a unique effect of the
tree, which is often referred to as allelopathy, where a

health benefits. It is said to kill almost 100 different parasites,

primary active ingredient found in black walnut hulls is called
juglone or nucin. Juglone is what gives black walnut hulls their
allelopathic properties and is also what is responsible for killing

as an herbicide as well as a natural dark brown-orange dye in
cosmetics. Juglandin is also found in black walnut hulls and it is
used as a black dye in cosmetic products. Black walnut hulls also
contain magnesium, manganese, silica, sulfur, copper, and potassium.

was able to compress this soaked plant material, only a portion of
this liquid would be able to be removed from the plant matter. Even
if perfect separation of liquid from plant matter was possible, it
would only contain 50% of the valuable constituents of the plant,
because in solution there is an equilibrium of active components
dispersed between the plant matter and the liquid. Again, this is
only in theory, it is actually impossible to extract all of the
liquid from the plant matter, so more than 50% of the active
constituents would be left unused in the plant matter. Feel free to

do not specify whether it is fresh or dry. Fresh plant material
contains 80% or more water by weight. We exclusively use dehydrated
