Six Piece Service Kit For Treadle Sewing Machines

Essential tools for every treadle sewing machinist's care-kit

Double ended nylon bristle lint brush: approximately 17.5cm long
Tweezers: approximately 16.5cm long with an angled tip
Awl: 137mm total length, 67mm spike length, 10×70mm plastic handle
Screw Driver Set
Stubby wing driver: 70mm long, 5mm blade
Small driver: 78mm long, 2.5mm blade
Large driver: 110mm long, 5mm blade

The double ended lint brush and the angle tip tweezers are the same as those I started using when I worked in factories 30 years ago and I have never come across better tools for getting into and cleaning out all those hard to reach nooks and crannies, and while I may have gone through a few brushes over the years, I still have the pair of tweezers I bought about 20 years ago and the one in this kit is of equal quality.
While you will find the awl has other uses (such as marking dart points etc.), it is also the cheapest and easiest way to punch a new hole though your leather drive belt after it has been adjusted to the correct size (a standard pair of household pliers are all you need to cut the belt and close the staple).
As for the screwdrivers, these are my idea of the perfect set for sewing machines whether a vintage, modern or industrial; the small one is for adjusting the bobbin case or shuttle tension, the large one for general use and the stubby one is the real gem because there are many screws in tight spaces on sewing machines such as on the throat plate.

About me:
I’m a collector, renovator and researcher of vintage sewing machines (as well as a rag trade professional with 40 years experience). After realising the difficulty finding the parts and accessories from an Australian supplier I decided Australian antique and vintage sewing machine enthusiasts deserve better, so I’m putting my money where my mouth is; these machines are not just antiquarian objects of beauty, they were made to be used and designed to last and with the right care and love they will still be sewing well into the 22nd century if not the 23rd.
If you are after advice about renovating or need a specific part that I don’t currently list please contact me and I’ll do my utmost to help, or become a Fan of Cyndy Kitt Productions on Facebook to connect with other crafty types and sewing machine collectors.

Please have a look at my shop as I have a range new parts and accessories for vintage sewing machines such as bobbins, shuttles and leather drive belts.

About combined postage:
To keep the postage low I pack small light items such as bobbins as large letters, but this means it is not possible to set the eBay postage calculator to be accurate so when ordering more that one item please request a revised invoice. Orders over AU$50 will require a signature to acknowledge delivery.
Due to a number of international orders being reported lost in transit and the prohibitive cost of a tracked international package via Australia Post, I have reluctantly been forced to remove my international service on eBay. If you are outside of Australia and can’t find an item I sell from a local supplier please contact me privately and we’ll work something out.

Remember when checking out my other items,

I always combine postage and packing for buyers who wait for an updated invoice before paying.

Local buyers may pay cash on collection from Hawthorn (Melb) Vic.

VERY IMPORTANT:
If you have trouble finalising your payment please contact me immediately to avoid being reported as a "non payer" to eBay and your order being cancelled. I value my customers (some have even become friends) and want every transaction to be a happy one.
