This is a hand carved hair stick from Tampaksiring, Bali.
Beautifully made, this decorative hairstick looks stunning with its corkscrew and rounded carved end! The natural wood is variagated in colour, and gives a beautiful touch to your long hair when it is pinned up, and also make a wonderful gift for others.
This hair stick measures approx 1.7 cm in width near the end and 21 cm in length (usable length is 16 cm), weighing 13 g. It is made from Sono wood, a durable hard wood which holds up well in moving to dry colder climates, and has beautiful markings. It is much more common than other tropical hardwoods of comparable beauty- some of which have been sadly overused and now have become rare. These are listed as multiple items, so may differ slightly being handmade from a natural material.
This product is made in Tampaksiring, a little town in the centre of Bali. We first spotted these lovely hairpins in Yogyakarta and bought some there, and by an amazing coincidence we met the maker while traveling home via Bali. We buy direct from the maker – resulting in fantastic prices for you!
