• The finish that's been applied to it is a hand rubbed shellac. This wood in my opinion is relatively soft and has a number of scratches in it.... if you look at the wood at certain angles and in certain lighting situations...the scratches are apparent......it's just common with Thuya wood in my opinion...It is a gorgeous wood though so there's some give and take.

There are times where certain minerals, rocks, gems, fossils will exhibit a myriad of changes due to the refractive nature of the item. In other words depending at what angle you look at it ....the item maybe be quite different in terms of coloration and overall saturation.... I shoot with a Canon Mark III 5D at a white balance sampled through Photoshop....the most accurate way to set a white balamce with RAW camera data.
