Item number:   230795918444

I will combine shipping and refund the shipping
cost of the banjo bolt!

While not an exact GS replica, this looks very similar
to the round reservoir GS units - which are no longer available.

This is a strong, robust unit, not just a cheapie knockoff!

NOTE: NO BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH, and No Banjo bolt
!

ALSO NOTE: Mirror mount has (yamaha type) left hand Thread.
This is to prevent mirror arm breaking if you whack something...
the mirror post just loosens up instead of snapping off!!! genius!!!!

If you don't want to get a Yamaha style mirror,
just get an adapter

Question:

Will this item fit a 70's/80's metric bike with single front disc?

Answer:
Not sure what you mean by "fit"...
This only fits on 7/8" handlebars, so most japanese bikes have 7/8" bars, clamps and controls, including stock Suzuki bikes.

So in that sense, this will "fit" on your handlebars.  If you have a fairing, maybe not, because this
is on the large end of the vintage master cylinder size spectrum  :-)

But "fitment" is not the only criteria for choosing a master cylinder.

This has a 22mm bore size, what is the stock bore size on your master cylinder?

As you know, the bigger the bore size on the master, the more fluid gets pumped through the lines and calipers,
and the firmer the lever feel.

This might feel too firm if you have a 13mm 14mm or 15mm, or 1/2" or 5/8" master.

On  the other hand, if you are still running 45 year old brake lines...
then this will very much help to firm up the lever feel.

Question:

Just want to make sure this will work for a 1979 GS1000 with twin discs? The OEM master cylinder is a 5/8 unit

answer:
hi, yes this will work, but it is bigger than 5/8",
so they work great with old rubber lines, however if you are running
steel braided lines, it may feel to stiff, or "wooden".....
also note:
These have left hand 10mm mirror hole threads,
so you will need to get Yamaha right side mirrors, or a RH thread mirror adaptor.

For those of us who have rebuilt a master cylinder that's seized and gunked up after sitting for 10+ years,
i don't have to tell you how much time you'll save yourself, by JUST buying a new master cylinder...
I've had it with spending $40 on a rebuild kit, and then having the master leak anyway, because the
aluminum inside the bore had oxidized so badly that not even a brake hone could make it seal....
frustation, waste of valuable time, and for what, a master that still looks old and crappy?

are you kidding me?     hell no.  NEVER AGAIN.
Now I Buy a beautiful, Brand NEW master, ....no headaches with bleeding or leaks,
cleans up the cockpit/bar area, and works better than the original.
what was i thinking? ( oh yeah, i thought i was gonna save $40 by rebuilding it myself...lol)

Absolutely my favorite for any SUZUKI GS, YAMAHA XS, HONDA CB, KAWASAKI KZ
Series with dual disc or for Dual Disc conversion

THIS IS "DA BOMB" FOR YOUR XS650 dual disc conversion, & XS750 XS850 XS1100 ~
ANY XS, XJ, CB, KZ or GS with DUAL DISCS will benefit!!!

22mm bore master cylinder.
These have yamaha left hand 10mm mirror hole threads.

Again, NOTE: Mirror mount has yamaha type left hand Thread.
This is to prevent mirror arm breaking if you whack something...
the mirror post just loosens up instead of snapping off!!! genius!!!!

(other brands use right hand threads on the stock masters)
(You can buy adaptors or yamaha style mirrors)
~ I can tell you where to get mirror adaptors.

It is for 7/8" bars.
10mm x 1.25mm banjo threads

Note: this has no brake light switch,
many older bikes have an inline hydraulic pressure switch hooked up to their brake line.

BUT, I do carry an adaptor-
a banjo bolt brake switch

I will combine shipping and refund via paypal!!!
you will not pay shipping on the banjo bolt!!!

This will work on any 70's and most 80's  disc brake setup with 7/8" bars.
This does not have a brake light switch.
If your stock master cylinder has a brake light switch mounted on it, this master will work to activate your brakes,
but it won't switch on the light unless you use a banjo bolt brake light switch.
You can either rely on your rear brake switch or get a banjo bolt switch.
(Many Hondas have a hydraulic switch that is separate from the master cylinder, in which case this is a direct fit.)

Comes with the master cylinder body and bar clamp,
with plastic cap and rubber diaphragm, but no banjo bolt,  sorry!

NOTE: the bike below is a dual disc XS750, gives a much firmer lever feel than a smaller master.

These bikes, especially the "Special" models, are notorious for soft, spongy lever feel.
