known as golden root, rose root, arctic root, or Aaron's rod) is a
flowering plant that has a long history of effective medicinal uses. Today, it can be found growing in cold climates at high altitudes
all over the world, including North America, the Arctic, and central
Asia. Its earliest historical use is thought to be with Scandinavian
vikings who would use it to increase their physical strength and
endurance. Rhodiola Rosea's first documented use came from the Greek
physician Dioscorides, and it was also mentioned in the first Swedish
pharmacopoeia as well as being used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Rhodiola
Rosea has two main active ingredients, which are the phenylpropanoid
called Rosavin and the phenylethanol derivative
Salidroside. It also contains various triterpenes, phenolic
acids, and flavanoids as well.
