Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What are the differences between controllers Homlicon LCH5, LCH5T, LCH5LP, LCH5LP-S ?
- LCH5 is a high-quality controller with an integrated •microphone amplifier compressor limiter module• and quality IR remote control. Available only as •assembled and tested kit•.
- LCH5LP-S is hardware like LCH5LP, but is functionally different from the LCH5 / T / LP series. The controller has two modes - •LED sequencer• and •Sound activated Light Show• (without color organ). LED sequencer mode suitable for use with advertisement lighting, party lights, etc. Available in two versions - as an •unassembled kit• and •assembled and tested kit•.
- For more information check out their user manuals.
2. What Is A Color Organ?
A "color organ" is a sophisticated device with several channels, each one sensitive to a different part of the audio spectrum. So low notes might flash a red light, mid notes might light up yellow and/or green, and high notes might flash a blue light. For each channel, the louder the sound in the that range of pitch, the brighter the light. Automatic color organ have circuits for AGC (automatic gain control) on each channel, while in non-automatic - adjustment is via potentiometers and in most cases need to be made for each song or even more often. There are a large number of circuit solutions, while have recently become popular microprocessor devices - providing additional features, remote control, and so on.
3. What is tested before packaging?
Homlicon devices are developed, assembled and tested from mc-kit in EU - Bulgaria. Each device is tested after assembling (quickly) and before shipping (in detail).
This is a shortlist of tests for the Homlicon LCH5 controller:
- voltages at the control points
- color organ - microphone input
- color organ - line input
- level meter - microphone input
- level meter - line input
- the output of each of the five channels at a voltage of 18 Volt and a current load of 2.2 Amperes
- IR remote control - all buttons from distance of 5 meters
4. What is the maximum length of various LED strips for each channel?
- LED strips 3528 - total 300 LED per channel - 10 meters with strips 30 LED/meter , 5 meters with strips 60 LED/meter , etc.
- LED strips 5050 - total 100 LED per channel - 3 meters with strips 30 LED/meter , 1.5 meters with strips 60 LED/meter , etc.
- LED strips 5630 or 5730 - total about 60 LED per channel - 2 meters with strips 30 LED/meter , 1 meter with strips 60 LED/meter
