What is Inklink™ and how does it work?

An inklink™ is an alternative to using cartridges.
The unit comprises of a large reservoir of ink (80mls of each colour) that sit outside your printer. Attached to the reservoir is a set of silicone tubes which feed into special cartridges which you use instead of your current cartridges. The printer works exactly the same way but now you have 80mls of each colour rather  than 10mls (which is the contents of the average cartridge).

Even better, when you get low on ink, just pull out the plug on the reservoir and pour in some refill ink (available from rihac for $14 per 100mls). Best of all you are saving up to 95% compared to the cost of cartridges

Obviously, the more you print the more you will be saving.

Consider it this way, The Canon CLI-526 colour cartridges have approximately 8mls of usable ink inside while the PGI-525 has around 16mls. Canon CLI-526 cartridges retail for around $24.49 each and the PGI-525 is about $24.00 (prices correct as of May 2014 via officeworks online*).

Rihac CISS is prefilled with 500ml of Rihac ink and is equivalent to approximately 56 Canon cartridges which would cost you about $1395.00 to purchase separately.

In our set of replacement inks (5 x 100ml of each colour) would cost you $63 for 500mls of ink. To buy the same amount of Canon cartridges it would cost you about $1395.00*.  You  save $1332.00 every time you refill!

Rather than using a gravity based system, rihac developed a purpose designed and self-contained ink reservoir.  This reservoir was engineered with special 'air balance tubes' to balance the pressure regardless of the ink level and act like a normal ink cartridge.  We made the system endlessly refillable and set about using the best quality inks we could source.  Since then, rihac have established themselves as the world leaders in ink supply systems and produce products for more printers than any other similar products in  the world.

With ink base products supplied from Both Cabot's (USA) and Diamond (UK) we make 100% sure that our products will never damage your print heads and will match the EOM colours.  Our dye based inks are micro filtered and have a special UV absorber to maximise print life beyond generic inks. Our inks were even reviewed by choice magazine who rated them as the only aftermarket inks tested that matched the original cartridge colours.

The single most common call we receive is people
who have been 'burnt' by cheap imitation style products or inks
on ebay or other websites. One of the downsides of being a quality product is that sooner or later imitation products will appear.  Unfortunately we have seen numerous poor quality 'copycat' systems and inks. A quick check of online sales sites such as ebay will present you with a number of Chinese or Asian copy systems and inks being sold by opportunistic sellers.

The vast majority of these products are simply imported from China and manufactured to be sold to the Asian market. This means they are made as cheaply as possible to be sold as cheaply as possible which is standard practice for Asian based companies as their market of over 1.3 billion can't afford and don't demand high quality. Hence what you get is an inferior product which sellers try to sell at just under our price point, despite being very poor quality and in some cases their use can permanently damage print heads.

We regularly find these sellers blatantly using everything from our product information, installation manuals and in a few cases they even used our contact details for support. Not only do these sellers engage in somewhat 'creative' advertising some blatantly lie about the quality of their product. Unfortunately these products and sellers are difficult -to stop and despite having numerous trademarks and patents we are powerless in some cases to prevent these listings and sales.

A common marketing trick used by a number of sellers is to advertise this inks as 'German' or 'USA' or 'German (or USA) ink technology'. In reality these inks are 100% made in Asia.  This misleading advertising is based on an assumption that the German company Bayer provides ink Dyes (Bayer was a German company that sold inkjet dyes). In reality ink formulas are complex and only 5% of the finished dye product is the colorant (Dye) and comes from a company called Laxness which was formerly owned by Bayer.

This product is not sanctioned or manufactured by Canon and users must be aware that the use of third party cartridges and CISS systems may void your printer warranty.
