1969 CHEVRON OIL Hula Girl Gas Pump Road Map MAINE NEW HAMPSHIRE VERMONT Acadia

Handsome fold-out 1969 Chevron road map of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, printed more than 48 years ago.

This map opens to 18" x 30½" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by H.M. Gousha. Maine is on one side; New Hampshire and Vermont are on the other.

There are inset plans of Manchester, New Hampshire; Burlington, Vermont; Portland, Maine; and Acadia National Park.

The map was distributed by the Eastern Division of the Chevron Oil Company in 1969 and is dated in the legend. The code in the lower margin is 11-QQ.

It was issued during the company's "Chevron Island" marketing campaign, and the front cover art shows a hula girl dancing on top of a gas pump.

Condition:  The paper has softened a bit, there are a few stray pencil marks from a previous owner, and one fold corner has a short break. The date of issue has been rubber-stamped on the cover.
