The bulb provides enough IR to illuminate a large room by aiming it from behind your infrared night vision camera or by bouncing the light of the ceiling (proved the ceiling is light colored), doing that will eliminate most shadows.

This bulb or any other IR source 940 or 850nm will not make a non-night vision camera, (as well as a smart phone camera) night vision capable. Day time cameras do not “see” infrared light.

It is meant to replace your IR night vision camera’s glow in the dark LEDs with no-glow invisible IR.
