Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939. This Muncie vase is glazed in a beautiful rich combination of green flowing down onto lilac. Spring colors for sure. Highly desirable glaze colors.

This is a lovely floppy hat vase so typical of the 1930's. This is a larger piece although the pictures can be deceiving. Displays exceptionally well. In my opinion, this would make a wonderful addition to any Muncie Pottery collection or any pottery collection.

Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and free from crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. I cannot detect any repairs or restoration on this piece. The white spots are studio light reflections.

Decorator marks on bottom.
