Rimblades® SCUFFS are an easy to fit DIY rim protector that is bonded to the wheel rim surface and are designed to fit flat surfaces. If you have a rounded edge to your wheels, please see our Rimblades Original listings. Scuffs are manufactured from Santoprene by Exxon Mobil, which is from the TPV family of materials, so although technically a plastic, it has the look & feel of a high quality rubber. Santoprene is a very expensive raw material costing triple that of normal plastics. Rimblades® SCUFFS have a thin wire core running through the centre of the profile to prevent the wheel rim protector from ever stretching or shrinking due to extreme temperatures. They are factory fitted with a genuine 3M Automotive grade VHB (Very High Bond) tape with an orange heavy duty liner.
They are a great value product designed to offer alloy rim protection from light kerb impact at parking speeds and additionally as a colour trim ring styling upgrade or to cover existing damage on your alloy wheels. They also offer a good amount of wheel protection against small road debris (flying gravel chips, for example) and parking scrapes.

Rimblades Ltd is a family business from Somerset that was established in 2010 with a mission to produce good value and easy to fit rim protection & styling products. We were the first company to globally market a flexible rim protector that was bonded to a wheel with a 3M VHB tape.
Rimblades are designed for drivers looking for great value wheel protection & styling that is affordable, colourful and easy to fit themselves (although we can fit for you at our fitting centre). They are designed as a sacrificial performance upgrade. Because Rimblades are a bond on upgrade the 3M VHB (very high bond) tape adds an extra cushioning level between the rim protector and the wheel and actually protects the surface beneath. We use the same grade of 3M tape across our bond on product range, which is a specific automotive high performance grade with an orange heavy duty liner. The 3M tape bonds using viscous flow and takes 72 hours to reach maximum adhesion levels, but as we combine this with an adhesion promoter a usable bond is obtained immediately and they can be fitted year round as long as the wheel is dry and free from contaminants.
All our bond on products require a clean & contaminant free mounting surface. If you ever use tyre shine you will also need our tyre shine remover as the IPA wipes supplied in our kits will NOT remove silicone overspray from tyre dressings. If Rimblades ever fail the reason in 98% of cases is tyre shine as the instructions were not followed. So if for example you have recently bought a car from a dealership, it is pretty much guaranteed to have had tyre shine applied and this WILL need to be removed before bonding on Rimblades products, but we have a product to do this.
The other 2% of failures are either due to poorly painted wheels where a rim has been repainted without the paint being properly adhered to the rim surface or damaged during a tyre change and not replaced.

All our patented products are proudly made in the UK and all our packaging is locally sourced. We make bond on rim protectors in very basic terms in a D shape with a guide lip, in an L shape with an additional lip and in a C shape, so can cater for most wheel rim shapes that have a continuous flat or rounded edge profile.
