This Russian ikon depicts the mother of God in Kazanskaya style. The ikon is 8 ½ inches wide and 10 inches long. The ikon is brass with silver plating. The haloes have red, white, dark and light blue enameling. Each corner has enameling with white, red, green and blue. There is a porcelain plate that reads Kazanskaya in Cyrillic. It also has two letters at the end which may represent the maker. We believe this dates to the early 20th century. There is wear to the silver plating and very light enamel loss.
