If you purchase a new iphone 5 up or ANY GSM phones is already unlocked which is use Nano sim card and has an older T-Mobile sim card.  

Simply call T-Mobile customer care once you receive the sim card at 800-937-8997 and ask them to change out your new sim card to the new Nano sim. You just need to read the sim card number on the back of the sim that start with 8901...then insert the Nano sim into your new phone.

If you want to use the Nano Sim with T-Mobile prepaid service you must already have an existing pre-paid account or purchase an activation code.
