What this is, how it was made: My company pioneered Video Projection FX, with our first test in 1978. Ghouls was done using a MOCAP system, like what programmed GOLLEM from Lord of the Rings. We did a few MOCAP routines, and then did compositing with Real Fog and Backgrounds to give you a very large variety of choices. The base animation character is horrific, and you get a lot of ways to use this, including Vertical FX.
