Manual Focus Ai-S Nikkor 600mm f/4.0s IF ED Super Telephoto lens

The optical characteristic is particularly suited for sports and wildlife photography or for capturing inaccessible events or places, these super telephotos are good optic often used by photojournalists in tough shooting situations where they just can't get close enough to the places where the action takes place. 

It is lighter and smaller than one might expect, The lens can be handheld but it is advisable to use some form of support such as a stout monopod or gimbal head on a tripod

 One considerate feature found in these lenses is the revolving mechanisms in their tripod ring so you can instantly change from horizontal to vertical format with exceptional ease.

This lens was part exchanged in from a famous Horse racing photographer, Ed Byrne, and it was regularly serviced with Nikon. There are obviously some marks to the body of the lens as one would expect from professional use but the optics are crystal clear, aperture nice and snappy and focusing is nice and smooth. 

 This lens is manual focusing and will work well on any modern Nikon DSLR using the lens aperture ring in Manual or Aperture Priority modes, or on mirrorless cameras with an appropriate mount adapter, giving exceptional results. 

The lens is complete with the tripod mount, lens hood,  cap and well worn original case. Not only is this lens a rare and exceptional quality lens but it also comes with some interesting history.
