Made form the same compound of Audio Grade Sorbothane used for our Isolation Feet, this modification is used to massively decrease the amount of vibration transferred from the motor to the plinth or top plate.

We believe this is by far the best upgrade available for any LP12 or Rega deck for the price, for such a small cost you will hear a huge difference.

This kit consists of 1x Audio Grade Sorbothane barrier 3mm thick, cut to the same dimensions as the premotech motor that is most commonly used for turntables.
And a new set of nuts and bolts, for if the motor needs to be bolted to a plinth.
This listing does not contain the motor.

Although only Linn and Rega are specified in the name this product can be used on nearly all turntables that use a Premotech or Airpax Motor with little modification.

For use on a Linn LP12 simply unbolt the motor, remove and existing washers and sandwich the barrier between the motor and the stainless steel top Plate. Then you can simply replace the old bolts or use the new bolts supplied to secure the motor in place.

As there are quite a few different styles of motor mounting for Rega decks we cannot go through them all individually but we can offer the following advice.

Ideally the barrier needs to be sandwiched between the motor and the plinth. For this to happen the motor will need to be straightened to its original form if the mounts have been bent and holes will need to be drilled into the plinth if the motor is just stuck with double sided foam.

Please note that in some circumstances the motor pulley height will need to be adjusted, this is usually a very quick and easy process.

Customer Feedback and Reviews on this Product

Hi, just wanted to let you know that your sorbothane motor mount has made a distinct improvement to my Planar 3. I was expecting just a subtle difference, if anything. However I could tell instantly that things are sounding so much more together, and more listenable.
