This is a label for a 1940s Punchboard lottery game that was very popular during the 1920-1970s era. Back in the day you could buy these punchboard games and if you won you would get the prize listed in the label.  Retailers or advertisers would buy the punchboard blank and then add their own label and the prize they could win which would be something like a pack of cigarettes or candy or peanuts. An example of one is shown in picture 3, please note that the punchboard shown in picture 3 is NOT part of this auction, only the label shown in the first 2 pictures is what is for sale.

This auction is for this rare label shown in picture 1 &2 which was never put onto a puchboard and thus in excellent condition.  It also has a great pin up image which was very popular during the 1940s and used to sell just about everything. This pin up image is by famous pin up artist Gil Elvgren. Fun image of a 1940s style woman at the airport with her dog looking at airplanes. Titled "Plane View". Right side is the "ad" for the lottery to win some Lucky Strike or Camel cigarettes. Label printed on newspaper type paper, measures 4 x 8 inches and in very good condition with no flaws to report.

Great conversation piece. Guaranteed to be an authentic "old" item.
