Faithful replication of a part of 1,001 Nights by Vittorio Zecchin (1878-1947) who was heavily influenced by the Art Nouveau work of Gustav Klimt.
This tapestry is taken from a part of Zecchin's work celebrated as the high point of his paintings. His 100 foot long series of a dozen canvases entitled "Le Mille e una Notta (1,001 Nights) depicts the procession of Aladdin and his fabulous gift-bearing entourage of eastern Princes and Princesses arriving to seek the hand in marriage of the Sultan's daughter.
