This is a hand carved hair stick from Tegallalang, Bali.
Beautifully made, this decorative hairpin looks very stylish on and the end is gorgeous with its spiral curl! The natural wood is an even blonde colour and the screw carving helps with the hold. Each stick is quite unique! They give an elegant touch to your long hair when it is pinned up, and also make a wonderful gift for others.
This chopstick hairpin measures approx 1.1 cm in width at the end and 17.2 cm in length (usable length is 13 cm), weighing 7 g. It is made from Crocodile wood, a sustainable and durable hard wood which holds up well in moving to dry colder climates, and has beautiful markings. It is much more common than other tropical hardwoods of comparable beauty- some of which have been sadly overused and now have become rare. These are listed as multiple items, so may differ slightly being handmade from a natural material.
This product is made in Tegallalang, a little town in the centre of Bali. We first spotted these lovely hairpins in Yogyakarta and bought some there, and by an amazing coincidence we met the maker while traveling home via Bali. We buy direct from the maker – resulting in fantastic prices for you!
