The frontal design, especially the bumpers of modern SUV and off off-road vehicles is a big challenge for installation, since they are usually made of light plastic materials, which are not robust enough to withstand the heavy-duty LED lights. The best mounting area for these lights is on bull bar and nudge bar, or use professional mounting brackets (universal or fitting for specific car model) for installation.
These auxiliary LED lights should be mounted above front bumper, around 14-30 inches from the ground, providing longer range high-beam illumination the OEM headlight cannot reach. For heavy duty off-road trucks, being mounted on the vehicles’ roof or Pick-up bed mounted roll bars with 3-5 lights would be an optimum choice for greater visibility at nighttime driving.
For Australian market, the maximum height for mounting auxiliary driving light above bumper is 1500 mm (59 inches), but they may be mounted on the roof of the cars. For Australian user, please refer to MR1517 9.18 for details of regulation.
