The Moment in History:At 10:45 on the crisp autumn morning of October 14, 1947, an exciting new sound was heard for the first time in the skies above California's Mojave Desert. At the Air Force Flight Test Facility then known as Muroc, the world's first sonic boom created from the shock waves of a Bell X-1 experimental rocket plane struck the earth as USAF Captain Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager flew the bullet-shaped craft to a world-record speed of Mach 1.07, the first time man had ever flown faster than the speed of sound.
It is printed on Acid Neutral paper and will arrive in perfect shape.
