All our body jewellery is made from hypo-allergenic grade 316 Stainless Steel which is the industry standard for after piercing jewellery. Some people can still be allergic to this and it is the customers responsibility to know what they can and can’t have in their body and to know exactly what they are putting in it which is why we can supply all the necessary info on all our products. It is also the customers responsibility to ensure all their piercings have fully healed before replacing any jewellery parts and that all items are sufficiently sterilised and maintained with correct piercing after care when necessary.

WHY STAINLESS STEEL? High quality stainless steel like 316 grade has high resistance to rust, corrosion and tarnishing, which requires minimal maintenance. Stainless steel is also one of the most bio-compatible metals making stainless steel jewellery amazingly hypoallergenic. As one of the strongest of all jewellery metals, it does not oxidize and will be very durable.

How to measure a circular barbell? (horseshoe bar)

Circular barbells can be used in multiple body parts and therefore come in a huge range of sizes. It is important to know the correct size you need in order to maintain a healthy piercing otherwise it could migrate, take much longer to heal or just reject completely.

If you are using a circular barbell on a new piercing you should always allow room for swelling, this is the same with all piercings, your initial barbell will always be longer than necessary to allow for this …or it should be anyways. If there is no room for swelling it can cause problems and take far longer to heal than necessary.

Once your piercing is healed you may wish to downsize to a smaller ring, this is where it can be confusing as it’s easy to forget what size you already have meaning its tricky to work out what size you want next.

All of our piercings are measured internally, so on a circular barbell, whether it is a BCR, hinged segment ring or in this case a horseshoe bar it is always the inside diameter that we display. Have a look at the picture below which better explains how the measurement is taken.
