I am in the process of preparing for a relocation; resultingly I am selling off some things I have squirreled away for several decades. Including my early attempts at coin collecting....which basically amounted to me carrying a pocket full of loose change back in the days when I used to work as a cashier and buying any old coins which crossed my path. I am not a true collector, and have never sold coins on Ebay (books are my thing) - evidenced by the prices I am putting on items. The truth is I am just guessing at value.
In preparation for listing I did look up a few things. For one, I made sure to read how to ship coins for selling on Ebay and I know to pack all coin sales in a box with no NOISE, which is no problem because I have loads of bubble wrap to insulate coins to ensure no movement. And these days I always get a tracking number. The article did mention that I should say shipping is at Your Risk. If you would like insurance or registered mail please let me know and I will adjust the shipping costs.
Lot of old silver coins. Lot includes everything in photo's. My postal scale, which is old, is the type that that has lines for ounces. This appears to be slightly over a half pound of coins, so I went with the 1/2 lb mark in case there is an error. Face value just over $15.00.
I will add to the above statement about cashiering. At one point I worked at the equivalent of a bodega - a corner store in an urban area - and little kids would come in with a pocket of old coins to buy candy. I always figured they got into grandpa's stash of old money - where most of these came from. Except for the half dollars, those - and Hershey chocolate bars - were handed out to myself and my siblings when ever we went to visit relatives.
