fold-out 1967 Esso road map of Boston and vicinity with Cape Cod,
printed more than 50 years ago.
- This map opens to 17" x 24"
and has great detail on old street and
highway
alignments, with cartography by the General Drafting Company.
- The Boston area is on one side, from Beverly to Norwood,
including
Reading, Waltham, Needham, Quincy, Somerville, Salem, and Cambridge.
There's an inset of downtown Boston.
- The map of southeastern Massacusetts is on the other side
and covers
the area from Fall River and New Bedford to Provincetown
Chatham, and Falmouth on Cape Cod.
- The map was distributed by the Humble Oil
& Refining Company to promote its Esso brand and is
dated 1967 in the legend. The code
number on the back cover is W268.
- The artwork on the front cover shows a Swan Boat at
Boston's Public
Garden. A ride on the famous Swan Boat has been a treat for generations
of visitors to Boston.
- Condition: This map is in very good
condition, bright and clean, with no
rips, tears, or writing. There's a neat rubber-stamp imprint on the back cover from
