Handsome fold-out 1967 Esso road map of Boston and vicinity with Cape Cod, printed more than 50 years ago.

  • This map opens to 17" x 24" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments, with cartography by the General Drafting Company.

  • The Boston area is on one side, from Beverly to Norwood, including Reading, Waltham, Needham, Quincy, Somerville, Salem, and Cambridge. There's an inset of downtown Boston.

  • The map of southeastern Massacusetts is on the other side and covers the area from Fall River and New Bedford to Provincetown Chatham, and Falmouth on Cape Cod.

  • The map was distributed by the Humble Oil & Refining Company to promote its Esso brand and is dated 1967 in the legend. The code number on the back cover is W268.

  • The artwork on the front cover shows a Swan Boat at Boston's Public Garden. A ride on the famous Swan Boat has been a treat for generations of visitors to Boston.

  • Condition:  This map is in very good condition, bright and clean, with no rips, tears, or writing. There's a neat rubber-stamp imprint on the back cover from an Esso gas station in Raynham. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
