Two hand crafted aquarium slate caves

One corner and one rectangular cave, these have been designed to be stacked on top of each other

Each cave measures 7.5cm height, so 15cm tall when stacked together

Hand crafted from brand new natural slate using only aquarium safe materials. The edges of the slate have also been lightly filed smooth to insure safety for your fish.

Slate is a wonderful material for aquarium use, the natural dark coloration and texture will truly compliment aquatic life without detracting or clashing with the bright colours of tropical fish as many plastic ornaments do. Slate is also relatively inert meaning it is safe to introduce to your aquarium without affecting water parameters or leaching tannins into the water as other rock types and natural materials can.

As well as serving as a beautiful decoration for your aquarium this slate cave will also provide cover for shy or nocturnal species of fish or invertebrates. Cave spawning species will make this their home and surface egg layers will also be attracted to the smooth surface of the slate to spawn on.
