Walt Disney Productions' had a year-long celebration for Donald Duck's 50th birthday, In honor of this Donald Duck got his own parade in 1984.

  • Not many of these signs were produced as they were just for the Disneyland lamp posts.
  • many of them had sun fading from hanging at Disneyland for the year or damaged taking them down
  • This one still has bright vivid colors and is the best example of one of these signs we have ever seen.

  • Originally from the long closed down “Disneyana Shop” that was on Main Street Disneyland
  • This Donald Duck 50th Birthday sign was used on a lamp post along the parade route down Main Street Disneyland for the Special Birthday celebration.
  • Clarence Ducky Nash (the voice of Donald Duck for 50 years) had done an extensive tour, zooming around the country, visiting 14 different cities in just 4 day on a specially painted Boeing 727 dubbed Duck One with Donald Duck on the sides.
  • Ducky Nash also visited the White House, where President and Mrs. Reagan presented him with a plaque for his achievements, commemorating his unique place in family entertainment.
  • At the end of the tour, after landing in Orange County a motorcade became part of the parade that honored Donald with a huge celebration at Disneyland in June 1984.
  • Donald's float featured live ducks wearing party hats.
