I've collected 3D Stereo items for the last 30 years. It's come time that I pass along these hard to find items to someone else to enjoy.
This listing is for ONE battery operated Realist Red Button Stereoscopic Viewer Model ST-61 and an original wooden carrying case. The viewer was manufactured by David White Company made to accompany the Realist Stereo cameras. I have TWO available of these available. This would be a great his and hers pair! I always combine shipping when possible!
The Stereoviewer:
The lenses are clean and clear! The focus adjustment and interocular adjustments also work perfectly. I have gone through the viewer, cleaned the lenses and all electrical contact points, put in a new bulb and tested it thoroughly - It works GREAT! The viewer has been used and does have some small superficial wear on the outside, but nothing that really shows up in my photos. The insides are immaculate! There has never been any battery corrosion inside. Despite the small imperfections, there are no cracks or chips in the bakelite. It takes two "D" size batteries (not included) so it it is mobile and can be taken anywhere.
Condition of the Case:
This is the original 1950s green wooden case made for the viewer - it is not marked Realist, but it was clearly made for this viewer as it fits perfectly inside. It holds approximately 50 slides. It does have wear on the outside as can be seen in my photos - Regardless, it is very sturdy and holds this viewer and any slides you might have very securely.
The Stereo Slides:
In addition to the viewer, there are 12 color 3D Realist format slides in reuseable mounts included which appear to have been taken in the 1950s. The pictures are of family on vacation and around the house. The condition of all slides is excellent with no damage or fading, however there are a few slides that are victims of bad photography...
