• The most important point to remember when shade is involved is that moisture must reach the affected areas.
• Watering the area after reseeding will assist germination and help establish, but the area will still need regular attention.
• It will help if any low overhanging branches are chopped back to enable the light and rain to penetrate further under the tree. Any hard soil will require rotovating, breaking down and leveling ready for seeding.
• Our shade grass  Mixture is a blend of species tolerant of dry conditions, but to maintain growth it will need regular watering.
• Different seed mixtures establish at different speeds. As a general rule, hardwearing mixtures usually contain ryegrass and red fescue, two species that establish quite quickly - they can germinate in as little as 3-4 days, but 7-10 days is more average. Other, more high quality mixtures can take longer to get established. Finer red fescues, bent grass and smooth meadow grass can take slightly longer to germinate. Allow up to 14 days for these to germinate.But this can vary due to growing conditions
