These filter elements are for the replacement of tired and worn out filter elements in Mushroom air filters. The foam in these filters can deteriorate over time making them less effective and therefore reducing an engines performance. These replacements fit directly into the existing holders saving a great deal of money over replacing the full air filter. They also add a nice bit of colour to the car’s engine bay and allow a change of colour for a previously bought item. They take minutes to install and make an instant impact.

The filter element is made of 3-layer dry density foam and creates maximum filtration whilst also giving maximum air flow.

1 x 3-layer Air Filter Element - HKS Compatible
Size: 250mm. For fitting into a 200mm HKS mushroom cage filter housing

These Air Filter Elements are available in a variety of colours including:
 Blue, Green, Yellow and Red

Fitting Instructions

Step 1 – Removal
Remove the full Mushroom filter from the engine bay. These will often be attached using a jubilee clip or a T-clamp.

Step 2 – Opening the filter
Depending on which filter you have, the opening of the filter may vary. The most common type of filter has a screw in the middle cap in the front of the filter, remove this and this will allow the removal of the filter casing.

Step 3 – Replacing the foam
Remove the casing and extract the old foam from the casing, if it’s been in there a few years it may be a little stuck to the casing. Once out, pop the centre hole of the new foam out and reinsert into the casing, this can be a little fiddly and may require slight trimming but try avoid this if possible.

Step 4 – Reattachment
Reattach the casing onto the back and secure using the centre screw. Make sure the casing fits nicely against the back and does not have any gaps. Refit the whole filter onto the pipe work it was removed from using the original jubilee clip or clamp.
