Mid-century Peach Coral tile, vintage, salvaged. Tiles measure 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 inches each and are 5/16 inch thick including the ridges on the back. They are marked ‘Robertson.' We color-matched it to Plumbing Supply's color chip #043, Peach/Coral. There will be slight variations in color and condition depending on what it was exposed to over time.

Photos are not adequate to match colors because of the wide variation in lighting, photography, and monitor settings.Since every brand of tile is a slightly different size, we sell it by the nominal square foot. That’s 9 pieces of tile for 4x4 square field tile, 8 pieces of 3x6 subway tile, and so on. Your installed square footage will vary depending on the grout width you choose and the exact tile size, which we measure with calipers to get you the most accurate measurement possible. We always post the entire quantity we have available.
We often get long-forgotten surplus tile from basements, salvaged tile from demolished baths, and antique specialty tile of all kinds. Condition varies widely, and we are a small company without the resources to fully clean and photograph every individual tile. We triage our tile so that you do not receive any pieces with chips, cuts, or cracks on the visible face. Salvaged tile will often have little chips or damage on the sides or back that will be hidden by your grout. Even surplus NOS tile will often have cobwebs or minor scratches on the face just from being stacked for years alongside other tile. We cannot guarantee our tile to be pristine; often it is more than 100 years old and has the patina and character to prove it!
Tile is fired to over 1,500 degrees F when it is made, so it can handle quite a bit of cleaning. Older floor and wall tile was usually set in mortar, which can be gently chipped off and cleaned with a razor or diluted muriatic acid. Mid-century wall tile is usually set with mastic or other adhesives which are usually water soluble. Soak your salvaged tile in water with TSP or other detergent, even outside to warm in the sun for a couple days, and spray it off with a nozzle on your garden house. Any remaining adhesive, paint, or caulk usually comes off easily with a fingernail or razor knife.
We will tightly wrap and pad your tile. Ebay’s shipping calculator does not factor in the size of box needed for orders of multiple square feet. We do not have the staff to pre-pack and provide quotes for orders over 1 square foot. We will use flat rate boxes whenever possible and can refund any shipping overpayment you make via their calculator.
