"Gandolfi"
Camera Tripod
with Tilting Top.

This " Gandolfi" tilting camera tripod is in "as found" condition and has not been repaired or restored.
There are no splits or cracks to the wood that I can find and the metal work appears to be complete, however, there is some loss finish to the plated areas and there are some signs of surface rust.
The leather carrying handle is still well attached a sturdy and the original ivorine makers plaque is still present, it has "Gandolfi Makers London" impressed in to it.

When the legs a fully extended and spread the tripod measures 178 cm (70 inches) and it measures 82 cm (32 1/4 inches) high when closed.
The tilting tripod head is working order and moves smoothly.
The ebonised painted wood has taken a lovely depth of colour and patina that only comes with age and use.
